How To Apply for a Critique Registration Number
The purpose of
registering a Lhasa Apso with the Gompa Lhasa Apso
Preservation Program (GLAPP) is because it or one of its recent ancestors was directly
imported from the
Ineligibility:
AKC registered
dogs or dogs qualified for AKC registration are not eligible. Part-bred Lhasa
Apsos are not eligible.
Eligibility:
The Lhasa Apso must be considered a pure bred. If the Lhasa Apso is a Region-of-Origin import or if it is descended from a
recent Region-of-Origin import, it is eligible to be considered for registration by
GLAPP after going through the Critique Registration Application Process.
If the Lhasa Apso is imported directly from the Region-of-Origin,
proof of importation (i.e., a veterinary health certificate from the country of
origin or an airline bill of lading) must be provided.
If the Lhasa Apso is descended from an undocumented Region-of-Origin import and
is not registered with any organization, the owner is responsible for providing
background information. Incorrect certification may result in rejection or
cancellation of registered status.
Procedure:
1. Request a Critique Registration Number
Application (CRN Application) from
the GLAPP Registrar. Instructions are printed on the form.
2. Submit completed CRN Application, five
color photographs (head with eyes visible, left side, right side, view from
front, view from rear), copy of DNA profile, copy of microchip identification,
Critique Registration Fee ($30.00), a pedigree (extended to five generations or
as far back as is known), clear copies of all foreign registration certificates
to the GLAPP Registrar.
-
Five color photographs (head with
eyes visible, left side, right side, front and rear).
-
Copy of import documentation, if
directly imported.
-
Copy of DNA profiling.
-
Copy of Microchip identification.
-
Critique Registration Fee ($30.00).
-
Pedigree, extended to five
generations, or as far back as is known.
-
Clear copies of all registration
certificates.
3. For imports, copies of export health
certificates and/or other documentation, such as an airline bill of lading,
proving Region-of-Origin is required.
4. Include copies of all pertinent background
documentation useful in proving the dog is a pure bred Lhasa Apso.
5. When the completed application,
photographs, all required documentation, and fees are received by GLAPP, a
Critique Case Number (CCN) will be assigned and this Lhasa Apso
may be presented for evaluation by three qualified judges approved by GLAPP. If
no critique sessions are readily accessible to the Lhasa Apso
owner, three GLAPP approved judges may independently evaluate the Lhasa Apso
and send the completed Judges Critique Forms directly to the GLAPP Registrar.
Critique Judges approved by GLAPP are qualified breed judges and/or
knowledgeable, respected breeders.
6. The Critique panel of three judges will
record microchip numbers on the critique forms. Measurements will be taken for
statistical and identification purposes.
7. The Review Panel (appointed by GLAPP) will
study each case to determine final registration status. If the Review Panel
considers the Lhasa Apso to be pure bred, and if all
registration requirements are met, a Critique Registration Number (CRN) will be
assigned and an official GLAPP Registration Certificate With Pedigree will be
issued.
8. All dogs that undergo the critique procedure receive a GLAPP CCN whether or not they are ultimately designated as pure bred Lhasa Apsos. This information is retained in the GLAPP archives. If a dog is rejected for registration because it is not adjudged to be a pure bred Lhasa Apso, it will be recorded with the word REJECTED as a suffix to its Critique Case Number (CCN 0000-000-REJECTED).

GLAPP will appoint a review panel to hear the grievance.
