:Registry and Database

The Gompa Lhasa Apso Registry contains an external registry and an internal database.

The external registry is designed to meet American Kennel requirements for a domestic registry and includes DNA Profiling, DNA Parentage Verification and Microchip Identification. Pedigrees extend back to each dog's Himalayan foundation.

The internal database contains records of  all dogs being used to perpetuate the genetic lineage of the Gompa Lhasa Apso, including those directly imported from the Himalayas. Dogs in the database are bred and/or owned by Preservation Program breeders. With a comprehensive set of health and physical characteristics categories, the database is designed for analysis and study and tracks individual dogs through the course of their lives.

Dogs born within the Preservation Program are also registered with the United Kennel Club, founded in 1898, the second oldest and second largest all-breed registry in the USA.

This stamp indicates the dog has been DNA Profiled. It appears in the information section, top portion, right side, on the pedigree.

This DNA Verified Parentage stamp indicates the dog, its sire and its dam all have DNA profiles in the database and the dog's parentage has been verified comparing the profiles. It appears in the information section, top portion, right side, on the pedigree.

This Microchip Identified stamp indicated the dog has a microchip. It appears in the information section, top portion, right side, on the pedigree.
